Dip Kings shut down in 2024. No announcement, no notice to customers, and no explanation since. If you’ve landed here looking for them, this covers what’s known, what isn’t, and where to get the products they used to sell.
What Dip Kings was
Dip Kings was a Canadian online retailer specialising in smokeless tobacco. Their range covered:
- Chewing tobacco and dip
- North American snus
- Swedish snus
- Nicotine pouches
- Caffeine pouches
- Cigars and pipe tobacco
- Vapes
They built a following on breadth of selection and competitive pricing, at a time when few Canadian retailers carried Swedish snus or caffeine pouches at all.
When did Dip Kings close?
The site went offline during 2024. There was no closing announcement and no email to customers — for most people, the first sign was the website failing to load.
Reddit threads from that period are full of customers asking each other what had happened. Nobody got a definitive answer, and none has been published since.
Why did Dip Kings close?
Nobody outside the company knows for certain. Dip Kings never explained.
The most widely-held theory points to Health Canada’s regulatory action on nicotine pouches, and the timing fits.
In October 2023 Health Canada authorised the sale of Zonnic nicotine pouches with no restrictions on how they were advertised or who could buy them. Health groups objected immediately, and the federal health minister publicly described it as a loophole he intended to close. The restrictions that followed moved nicotine pouches behind pharmacy counters and limited which flavours could be sold.
For a retailer whose business rested substantially on nicotine pouches and flavoured smokeless products, that’s a serious problem. Several other Canadian retailers in the same category disappeared over the same period.
That’s a reasonable inference, not a confirmed fact. Other explanations are possible — supply, payment processing, or simply a decision to stop.
What about unused Dip Kings discount codes?
They’re gone. With the site offline, any code you were holding can’t be redeemed and there’s no way to recover store credit or reactivate an account.
If you had an order in transit when the site went down, there’s no customer service channel to chase it through.
Was Dip Kings legitimate?
Yes. Dip Kings was a real retailer that shipped real products, and customers generally reported good experiences with the products and service while it was operating.
The closure appears to have been abrupt rather than fraudulent — customers were left without notice, but this wasn’t a store that took money and vanished deliberately.

What to look for in a replacement
If you’re evaluating options rather than taking our word for it, worth checking:
Does the range actually match? Plenty of shops carry pouches but not snus, or cigarettes but not smokeless.
Is pricing transparent? Carton and tin prices should be visible without adding to cart.
Is there a real customer service channel? A contact address that gets answered, not just a form.
Is shipping and delivery time stated clearly? Including what happens if something goes missing.
Is there age verification? Any Canadian tobacco retailer should be checking.
Health warning: Tobacco and nicotine products are addictive and harmful to health. For adult use only — 19+ in most of Canada, 18+ in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec.
Frequently asked questions
Why did so many nicotine pouch retailers close in 2024?
Health Canada tightened the rules on nicotine pouches after they were initially approved with minimal restrictions. Retailers built around flavoured pouches were hit hardest.
Is Dip Kings coming back?
No indication of it. The site has been offline since 2024 with no communication from the operators.
Can I still use my Dip Kings discount code?
No. Codes can only be redeemed on the site that issued them, and it no longer exists.
Was Dip Kings a scam?
No. It operated as a legitimate retailer and shipped products as ordered. The closure was abrupt and badly handled from a customer perspective, but there’s no evidence of deliberate fraud.
What’s the best Dip Kings alternative in Canada?
That depends what you bought from them. If it was nicotine pouches and cigars, we carry both. If you specifically want Swedish snus, check any retailer’s actual stock before ordering — Canadian availability has narrowed considerably since the regulations changed.
