What Chesterfield is
An American brand launched by Liggett & Myers in the early twentieth century, named after Chesterfield County in Virginia. It was one of the three brands — alongside Camel and Lucky Strike — that dominated the American market for decades, and it built its position on a straightforward Virginia-led blend without the Turkish component Camel used.
It’s owned today by Philip Morris International and sells widely across Europe, particularly in Italy, Spain and Eastern Europe.
Availability in Canada
Limited. Chesterfield isn’t part of the mainstream Canadian range, which is dominated by domestic brands from three manufacturers. Where it appears it tends to be specialist import stock at import pricing.
